There is something about a glass of Sangria that can make the worries of a hard week melt away. One of my favorite places to get Sangria is at Spazzo Italian Grill and Wine Bar in the Redmond Town Center. Spazzo has a Happy Hour from 3 until 6 on Fridays with pretty sweet deals on food and drinks. While we were waiting for David to join us, we ordered a pitcher of Sangria and an order of the Breaded Truffle Mushrooms. Later, we ordered a Prosciutto pizza and a Margherita pizza to split between the three of us.
I’ve always liked the food at Spazzo. The pizzas come out on nicely chewy flat bread, and the mushrooms were flavorful without being overwhelmed with the taste of truffle. Our server was efficient and didn’t miss anything that we ordered or asked for.
I like the look and feel of the bar at Spazzo. I do wish that the bar menu had more variety, especially since they’ve raised the prices- everything cost a couple of bucks more than the last time we visited a few months ago. For example, the last time we went, a pitcher of Sangria was $12 and the Margherita pizza was $8. This time, the pitcher was $16 and the pizza was $9. The Happy Hour is still a good deal, but perhaps it is now a little less of a deal than it used to be.
After happy hour at Spazzo, the three of us walked over to REI to register for the Tubbs Romp to Stomp 5k. When we got home, Boyfriend and I got busy making tutus. Tomorrow is the snowshoeing breast cancer fundraiser and we need to make sure that we are looking our best (pinkest). I’ve never made a tutu before and didn’t realize it would take SO long to make each one. We’re going to be tired come morning!
